Considerations: As an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) division, that provides a high level of customization for customers they also found the need to provide a future e­-commerce business sparking new revenue channels. The company needed assistance in leveling the playing field by lowering the cost of doing business

Discovered: Two states were explored on behalf of growth projections, in order to receive incentive award offers. ENJEN discovered $756,875 in state tax credits offers from Illinois and $973,000 from Wisconsin in estimated support, with an additional $64,500 for annual training expenses. The client utilized ENJEN’s legal team for application and legal reviews which amounted to an estimated savings of $25,000 in legal fees.

Injection Molding Company - Rises

Client Profile: Small 4 person Injection Molding company outgrows operations. ENJEN Connects was used to garner options and incentives that made the move and Capex investments possible.

Discovered: Six state agencies including: Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia and Mexico and 5 local municipalities were considered on behalf of IMAP’s growth objectives in order to receive incentive award offers. Four awards were offered valued between $110,000 to $775,000 in State and local tax credits and training grants with options for low interest business loans for funding.

Husband & Wife Aerospace Sales and Distribution Company

Considerations: The company owners were looking to leverage assistance in lowering the cost of doing business. Since its launch in 2014, seeing enormous growth at an expedited rate, doubling its revenue by the end of its first 2 years only to double again in 2017 increasing from 7M to a projected 20M in revenue. To achieve such growth, additional office and warehouse space was needed, more staff needed to be brought on and new training and resources were required.

Discovered: Relationship connections were made within two states and several local municipalities, on behalf of growth projections, in order to receive incentive award offers. ENJEN proffered $732,600 in State tax credits, with an additional 10% of annual training expenses, 50% reimbursement of customized training, and government lending at 2% below prime with a calculated interest savings of $54,977. The client utilized ENJEN’s legal team for application and legal reviews which amounted to an estimated savings of $21,000 in legal fees.

Logistics Company Grows from 1 to 100+ 

Client Profile: A premier upper midwest logistics and transportation providers with the highest customer satisfaction rates and lowest employee turnover rate in the industry seeks to build new Headquarters. Driving the vision for a new HQ is a significant increase in new customers which increased projections for demand over the next 10+ years.. Thus the company was seeking to expand its current 26,000 sq ft facility to 130,000 sq ft. This includes office space of 30,000 sq ft with an additional 100,000 sq ft warehouse. Company projections are looking to double the amount of full time employees in the next five years.


Discovered: Two competing states offered tailored tax credits/rebates for income tax, Federal and State R&D credits, workforce development grants, and real estate tax abatement local level, ranging between $4M - $6M. The outside offers were utilized to create a tailored and maximized incentive offering leveraged with in the state and local municipality of their choice and to negotiate flexible project start dates.

Women Owned Commercial Maintenance Service Provider

Considerations: As a growing business, EFP were seeking to scale for their existing 15 full-time employees to bring in an additional 10 people over a two-year period. The challenge to this expansion was the cash flow required to take that next evolutionary step. ENJEN began working with EFP in the early Summer of 2019, helping them to explore a mechanism for long-term relief for cash flow and the potential of State tax credits.

Discovered: Job creation - The Company will receive between $2,300 and $4,600 net per year per position created. And this is applicable for up to 10 years. So, for example, if EFP hired 10 new people in the first year, they'd have a minimum benefit of $23,000 dollars in tax credits per year, so a minimum of $230,000 worth of tax credits over the 10-year period.
Training and development – EFP spends around $50,000 per year on training. Through the federal apprenticeship program, the Company would see a cost saving of between $25,000 and $50,000 per year.
Access to capital – EFP received an offer to access government lending via a subordinate loan program, where they are able to secure 50% of a loan at 2% below the prime rate up to a maximum of $2 million. (Presumably the other 50% is at the prime rate?)
Site selection assistance – As EFP are potentially looking to secure new headquarters as part of its investment and expansion plans, Illinois also offered free site selection services. The Company is looking for new square footage of about 8000 square feet, as are also eligible for a construction rebate program from the local electric company, plus a one-time rebate of about $1500 just for sharing facility improvement plan.

Midwest Robotics Integration Company

Considerations: Midwest robotics systems integrator, in a high growth cycle needed to create efficiencies that could support job growth, options for expansion, increasing business revenues, and to develop a skills training center with access to existing and future labor pool. Previous efforts by the company to obtain government savings/funding had resulted in training grants and some R&D credits with a value of less than $750K

Discovered:The result, a new location was explored in a Keystone Innovation Zone (KIZ) program, which is a Pennsylvania statewide initiative to foster entrepreneurship. KIZs are special districts offering tax incentives to qualifying companies in targeted life science and technology sectors. In the case of The client, this translates to up to $100,000 a year for eight years of refundable tax credits.
